Review: SkinLogics Lip Apeel
Topic: SkinLogics

About 6 months ago, I stumbled across Lip Apeel  and decided to give it a go.  This is a two in one product with a lip peel and lip balm separated in one easy to carry, though not easy to use container...we'll get back to that. The product claims to get rid of dead, flaky skin on chapped lips.

The way you're meant to use this is by applying a thin coat of the peel on your lips.  Let is dry for a few minutes and then rub it off with a wet cloth or tissue.  After finishing, apply a bit of the attached lip balm.

Ok, so the final results: it does exactly what it says it will do.  It quickly gets rid of dry, dead skin on the lips and the soothing lip balm really does help relax the lips after the treatment.  Lip Apeel is "dermatologist, sensitivity and allergy tested...non-comedogenic and fragrance free."  There are three down sides and they are major ones to overcome.  The packaging is horrible - just.the.worst. Check out the picture: you have to unscrew the blue portion to get to the gloss - ok that's fine - I have small hands (but good luck if you don't). To get to the treatment you have to unscrew at the larger line between the two sets of  words.  This is where it gets annoying - nine times out of ten instead of getting to the actual product you open the outer casing which is just a PITA.  It's not that big deal but....(problem #2)....when I drop 20 bucks for a lipbalm, I expect it to have no packaging issues.  Yep, 20 USD.  That's a lot for something that can made by hand at home.  Finally, these things are nearly impossible to get.  SkinLogics is a Beauticontrol line.  Beautycontrol is similar to those other makeup companies where folks have parties and try to sell stuff to you.  I found mine on Ebay so if want to try the product, you may want to look there first.

Would I buy another?  Probably not.  It's great for extreme cases of chapped/cracked lips, but regular use will destroy your sweet kisses.  Also, as I mentioned above, you can make essentially the same thing at home with a quick sugar or salt scrub to the mouth.  Hope this helps!
