Topic: MAC and MSFs
WHOA - so I got a ton of questions about this product via email and youtube so I thought I'd do a quick run down for folks who may be too shy to ask directly :) Check out the picture in the post below to see what I'm talking about.
Just what are these? Every once in a while MAC Cosmetics sends the world in a flurry by putting out various mineralized products: eye shadows, blush and skin finishes. While the eye shadows are nothing to write home about and the blushes are hit and miss (Gleeful is a HIT, buy it!) everyone goes crazy for the mineralized skin finishes.
Why? Because they rock. Mac is notorious for putting out foundations that look great but break out sensitive skins. Far fewer people break out with this. Myself included. Plus the coloring of these (the new ones) create a more natural finish
So it's a foundation? Not really. There are msfs and msfns. The mineralized skin finishes (msfs) are the ones that come in blush or highlighter colors like Petticoat below. They can be used as blush, accents and even eyeshadows. The mineralized skin finish naturals (msfns) care more like finishing powders. They are not quite powdered foundations, but are much heavier regular blot powder. When I'm around the house or going out for a natural look - I use the msfn. With a bit of concealer it becomes the perfect wash for your face - evening you out. Finally some colors can be used as both depending on your skintone. Take So Ceylon for instance. It's so close to my skin color that I use it all over my face, after applying foundation to give my skin a natural glow.
Are the THAT big? Yep. They are about 1.5 the size of a regular Mac blush and they are domed.
Are they all Limited Edition? No, but Petticoat and So Ceylon are so get those now!
Price? MSFs and MSFNs are $25. I know that sounds pricey, but the last time So Ceylon and Pettiocoat were released, they sold out immediatley and people were spending 50 - 60 bucks for them online!
