Nail Polish Project
Topic: Nail Polish Swatches

Here's a idea I got from WackyMichy - creating color wheels.  For many, nail polish wheels are only available online with OTT shipping costs.  Further, the polish tends to peel away from color wheel after a certain amount of time.  By creating your own, you not only save time, but avoid the frustration of peely wheels.  To do this you'll need popsicle sticks, adhesive and nails.  I found these sticks at the Dollar Tree - you can't beat 200 for a buck:

For adhesive, you'll need something that is thick with a creamy/paste like texture.  Spray bonders and thin glues won't work, because you need something to harden and fill the empty space between the nail and the stick. I've found Mod Podge to be the best and cheapest.  It applies wet, so you can move it around (if its uncentered), but dries rock hard.

Finally, you'll need a pack of fake nails - here's a 100 count pack I picked up from Sallys for $4.

Put down some paper because this is a messy operation.  First you'll take a massive glob of adhesive and put it on the nail tip.  You need to overload it because you're using it to fill the space created by the shape of the nail.

These take a good 15 minutes to dry so you might as well do a ton at one time.

Next, just start painting and write the name of each color on the front or back of the popsicle stick.

Now you'll always know what you have, dupes of it and how something look OUTSIDE the bottle.
