Review: Skin Essentials Eye Makeup Remover
Topic: Clean|Removers

I'm going to speak ill of this, but before I do, I have to stress that it was only $3.

Skin Essentials Eye Makekup Remover can be found at Walgreens in their skincare, not makeup, section (I found a stack of them stuck in between Nivea lotion). Whatever. On a mission to prove myself wrong after the whole Covergirl remover fiasco, I decided to give drugstore removers one more try.  I have to say that it didn't match up to my Clinique Take the Day Off Balm: I had to fully saturate the cotton ball and press it on the eyelid for about 10-15 seconds to have it remove product.  You can forget trying to use it waterproof mascaras, though it will cut though e/s primer and paint pots after a couple of swipes.

All in all - it was JUST like MAC Pro Makeup Remover.  Yep.  MAC's gel based eyemake up remover is really good, but there's no difference between MAC's water based (Pro) makeup remover and the Skin Essentials. To be fair MAC's does smell a bit better, but man - for the price difference, you really can't beat it.

Good to know since I'm in Walgreens at least a couple times a month. I use a basic oil to clean off all the slap...nothing really gets if off as good for me but I will say this...my grandmother gave me EL's Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, which is not that oily crap but feels like water...surprisingly good and refreshing. Although, not drugstore priced. I've never found a drugstore makeup remover to be very good. Did you get any of the Smashbox kits?
