Fresh is by far one of the coolest stores to go into. Its an experience
and a promise of future adventure for your face and body. If you've never been, its an old style perfumery with scents, bath items, candles and makeup. One product that I'd been wanting to try for some time was their Soy Face Cleanser, billed as being extra gentle and formulated for not only cleaning the face, but also removing makeup and eyewear.
As I wear sunscreen daily, I prefer to pre cleanse before using a regular cleaner to ensure that I don't go to bed with pore clogging chemicals left behind. I was nervous to try this one step with Fresh, but I will say that it did a remarkable job of cleaning (most) everything off. It removed my foundation as well as my spf. +1 point
It didn't do such a good job around the eye area though. When using Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a primer, Fresh just couldn't cut though it. Still, I'm actually ok with that - its more of a testimony to TFSI than a negative against Fresh. -0 points
The Soy Face Cleanser is recommended for all skin types and (per the packaging) has an insane amount of soy proteins "packed with protein-building amino acids and anti-oxidants. It sounds like a really great product and for the most part it is. +1 pt
There's just one little thing...
...The Smell! Remember the David Bowie movie, The Labryinth? There was one place that every character feared the most - The Bog of Eternal Stench. I went there and this Soy Face Cleanser took me. This stuff reeks of grim death. It is meant to smell of cucumbers and soy, but it is so overpowering that it makes me gasp for air. I hate it and its a shame, because it really is one of the best products on the market. - 8,000 points
If you can handle the smell, and I imagine some folks can, get it. A 150 mL tube costs $38, but a small dab is enough to clean your whole face and the tube will last forever. If you don't have a Fresh store near you, you can pick it up from Sephora.com. Good luck though, and consider yourself warned.
