Lancome Definicils
Topic: Mascaras

Billed as Lancome's High Definition Mascara, I must say that Definicils is just that.   This mascara (with its awesome brush) coats each lash, separating them along the way.  Check out the picture below:

As you can see, no clumping and no mess around the eye - just pure, natural looking lash.  I'll also note that this picture only shows one coat.  If you want more umph, two coats would do it and it still wouldn't get clumpy.  For more formal occasions, I'd prefer that it added more volume, but I've been able to work around that by using this over a mascara primer or volmunizing mascara.  Finally, this does not sting or burn, even after wearing it for a 2 hour gym session - awesome!

This is the only Lancome mascara that I like to use, and you get it from any mall counter in Black, Deep Black, Brown, Deep Brown, Navy, Aubergine or Indigo for $24.

Review: Besame's 1930s Mascara
Topic: Mascaras

Awhile ago I ordered from Besame, but never tried actually tried this mascara.  Now that I'm on a no buy, I can't rebuy my fav (Clinique) and instead shopped my stash.  This is a very lightweight mascara that provides great length, but no so much volume, making it perfect for daytime wear.

As you can see, it's not dramatic, just natural and would be perfect on those I-wearing-makeup-but-trying-not-to-look-like-it-days.  The mascara itself is treated with conditioners, so your lashes feel soft to the touch, and not like fried.  It has all natural ingredients, allergy tested and paraben free.  The brush itself is in the standard Christmas tree shape, but the handle is long and may take some getting used to.

You can find this at www.besamecosmetics.com for $10.

Review: Clinique Lash Power Mascara
Topic: Mascaras

The other day I actually found a Clinique mascara that I don't love.  I don't hate it - but it's a far cry from the standard Clinique look.  Generally speaking, I can count on most of that company's mascaras to give me full, long, new Hollywood, natural looking lashes.  This product however was completely over the top!  It gave me insanely long lashes that looked 100% fake.  This would have be fine for night out, but not at 10 in the morning on the way to the library.

A huge plus is that this is a long wearing formula and nothing will move this stuff.  Nothing.  So in a way it makes sense - it gives a  completely OTT look while being able to last a long night out.

FYI - this stuff comes off in tubes, so don't freak out thinking your lashes are coming off - it's just the mascara.

Would I buy this again?  Probably not, but that's only because I'm getting old.  If I'd met this formula a couple of years ago, I would have never partied without it.
